Let us not grow weary…

Lest you think that all we’re doing is watching clouds and enjoying the sunshine, I’d like to catch you up on some of the things going on in our world…

The Trar--Eddie!

We put over 3,000 miles on our car traveling to visit with friends and family in Northern Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.  This is part of our Ministry Partner Development and it allowed us to share our “Call and Vision” with many different people.  It also allowed us the opportunities to find our what is going on in our friends’ lives so we can pray for them–we’re a team!

Rick and David Bates (Col, USA Chaplain, ret) had a brief with the Deputy Chaplain of the Marine Corps in which they were able to share the resources and that are available from Military Ministry.  The Lord allowed this appointment to be arranged through the network that Rick had accumulated and it was the highest level brief that MilMin has ever given to the Navy Chaplain Corps.

Rick taught a class for ROTC students at the University of South Florida, on the role of the chaplain at the request of an academy classmate, and a prayer team member.

Rick attended a USNA  alumni gathering in Tampa and was able to encourage a young officer who was suffering from PTSD.

We attended a conference at McLean Bible Church in VA which highlighted General Dees and the mission and resources of Military Ministry.

I continued working on my New Testament Survey course (this is a requirement for all Campus Crusade staff.  I’ve been a Christ-follower for over 35 years and there is so much that I didn’t know I didn’t know! I’m enjoying learning.

Rick attended the ‘Bridges To Healing’ seminar at a civilian church in Columbus, GA on the ‘banks’ of Fort Benning, where he made many important contacts with those he will be working alongside, and with potential ministry partners.

Rick has now made significant contacts/appointments with a number of churches who are excited about MilMin’s resources for their congregation, and one has already agreed to be a Ministry Partner!

Caladesi Island near Dunedin --we have not been here yet!

And we haven’t even been to the beach!  That will tell you how busy we are about our Father’s business.

Rick and I are walking nightly and praying while we are walking.  Please let us know how we can pray for you!

Rick says he feels a bit like an aviator who loves to fly, but has been grounded!  There is so much need and we can barely wait to get started!  Please keep us in your prayers, as we continue to raise the support we need so we can cross the line of departure and begin the work of the ministry.
